Jagmeet Singh (Mr. Jagmeet is a former lawyer, a human rights activist and now the Leader of Canada’s Democratic Party) is visiting Welcome Place — at Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council – Welcome Place. With him is Rita Chahal the Executive Director of Welcome Place — Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council showing him 2 of the doll totes we delivered to them last fall. Jagmeet is visiting MIIC-Welcome Place to understand more fully the refugee work that MIIC-Welcome Place is doing. I was so excited to see that Don’t Cry…I’m Here came out in their meeting as a part of their refugee process. We are a notable part of their process….notable enough to familiarize Mr. Jagmeet with our mission and our work.
